Here it is, kids: FBI aims for world's largest biometrics database.

The FBI is embarking on a $1 billion project to build the world's largest computer database of biometrics to give the government more ways to identify people at home and abroad, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

Am I the only one not scared by this? I don't know why this hasn't been done sooner. I think it goes to show how backwards our leaders are. It just makes sense that this would be done. Regardless of what you think the Powers That Be might do with this, you have to agree that if you believe that we should have something like the FBI, then it makes sense that they would want to do such a thing. Just because it could be abused doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. Screw it. If such a thing saves someone's life then it's worth it. I'm all for it.
